I’m Lakelyn Bohannon, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and a proud graduate in the top ten percent of my program. I received my graduate degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of North Alabama, where I was honored to be inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

I’m deeply passionate about mental health and genuinely believe in the healing power of being heard, understood, and supported. I have experience providing compassionate care to individuals across the lifespan - from children and adolescents to adults and older adults. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, or life transitions, I strive to create a warm, welcoming space where you feel safe, seen, and empowered to take the next step in your journey.

My approach is one without judgment and rooted in empathy, active listening, and a strong belief in meeting each person where they are. I also strongly value the why behind each individual’s struggles, not only the symptoms that appear on the surface.

My goal is to work collaboratively with you to create a personalized care plan that fits your unique needs and goals. I look forward to connecting with you and being part of your journey toward healing and growth!

I’m a board-certified psychiatrist in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. As someone born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, I am deeply committed to improving mental health in my home state. I now live in Vestavia Hills and serve my community with a focus on comprehensive, person-centered care.

My journey in psychiatry began at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where I had the honor of serving as Chief Resident in Psychiatry. This role allowed me to develop my leadership skills and deepen my clinical expertise. I am comfortable treating individuals of all ages and have extensive experience working with autism and ADHD.

My approach to psychiatry is holistic—I believe in treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. I strive to incorporate therapy into every session, considering all aspects of a person's life in my treatment plans.Through my practice, I aim to advocate for mental health awareness and provide compassionate, comprehensive care to the Alabama community. It is my goal to make a lasting positive impact on the lives of my patients.

Tyler Byrd, DO

My passion is improving the accessibility of mental health, as well as removing the stigma and misunderstandings of appropriate mental health care. We are all too often taught to ignore our emotions and that any emotion outside of happiness or pride is shameful.  This frequently leads to fear and confusion about what’s going on inside of us, leading us to irrational levels of avoidance or lashing out in anger.  When viewed alongside a capable and caring professional, however, our emotions become more understandable and therefore less frightening and overwhelming.

I am from Oneonta, Alabama. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Birmingham-Southern College,  and attended medical school at William Carey University School of Osteopathic Medicine (2012-2016). I completed residency at UAB in Psychiatry (2016-2020).  During my residency, I also worked extensively with multiple correctional departments - where I found a great need for psychiatric care that was both comprehensive and accessible.  I scored in the top 2% in the country in the PRITE (Psychiatry Residency in Training Exam), however I found that this knowledge base wasn’t very helpful if it couldn’t be practically explained and applied.  Thus, after completing residency, I attempted to bring such comprehensive and accessible services by serving as Director of Mental Health for Cullman Regional Medical Center.  I loved the community I served, but I missed teaching and academics.  So I stepped out of the directorship role and joined as adjunct faculty with the University of South Alabama Psychiatry residency program.  This also allowed me the time to build this practice in my current community of Birmingham - with the goal of providing exceptional psychiatric care, outside the constraints of the traditional “insurance first - patients second” world of medicine. My goal is to build a legacy of empowerment regarding mental health and helping others to do the same.

Reide Savoy, MSN, CRNP, PMHNP-BC

Hi, I’m Reide Savoy, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I provide compassionate, patient-centered care to support mental health and overall well-being.

I earned my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2023 and completed my post-master’s certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the University of Alabama in 2025.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, and life stressors. My approach is collaborative and individualized, with a focus on understanding each patient’s needs and developing practical, effective treatment plans.

I value open communication and strive to create a respectful environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns. I believe treatment works best when patients are actively involved in their care and feel supported throughout the process.

My goal is to help patients build stability, improve daily functioning, and feel more equipped to move forward.
